The phone industry has us by the balls. Now I am a faithful Android user and y’all can fight me. I won’t be sold into having a iOS device of any sort. Whether you have iOS or Android, you get suckered into getting the latest in the greatest every year. I was dabbling with getting a new phone, but I wasn’t realizing why I felt like I needed one. Here are the reasons why:

  1. Why do you still have those old phones?

I decided to sell my previous phone at work. While cleaning out some things, I discovered that I had 2 other phones I had forgot about. I should have sold them when they were worth something.

  2. Do I have $700+ every year?

Girlah, why are you ponying up every year to buy a new phone? But yes I do have the money to get a new phone real quick. But pay off some debt or something. That new phone isn’t that far off from the one you got last year.

  3. Am I using its full capabilities?

I just found out my phone could record videos in 4k. Y’all….. What the heck is wrong with me? I was looking a Pixel 4 and whole time my phone has this feature that I could be doing so much more with.

  4. Will it get the latest update?

Duh yes if you got it within the last year.

Don’t let these companies get you. My dad just got himself a new phone after 4 years. Give it a thought before you splurge. And pay your rent 1st.

  1. I get a contract, I never buy a phone out right as the newer iPhones are like over £1,000. I can’t afford to pay out in one go like that!

  2. First off, that dress is beautiful and looks so good on you!!! Second, you make sure good points. The phone industry does have us by the balls. Hook, line and sinker. We are at their mercy. You raise so great and valid things to think about in this post!

    • Thanks and I’m glad you like the post. I am contemplating on my next phone at the end of the year. But I would at least have had this phone 2 years.
