Blogging has been a part of my life for at least the last 2 or 3 years with a recent rebrand this year. And I can honestly the say the rebrand has made me consistent and excited to take this journey. With that being said, I decided to invest the proper equipment to create what I am passionate about my audience, followers, subscribers, even lurkers.

Here is what I will say is the Best Equipment to be a content creator.

Laptop/Computer

If you plan to be some type of influencer, you will need to create a website. Get a laptop if you don’t already one. I use a Surface Pro 7 which came out this year. If you are a Apple use, stick with that as you need all your apps to tie in back to your laptop.

Here are some options

Macbook Pro – $2, 149

Macbook Air – $999

Surface Pro 7 – $819 – what I use

Camera

Because this will be one of your most important purchases, please make sure to review what is the best out there to create quality content. Now if you are fine with using your phone, stick with that. You are not obligated at all to purchase a camera in the beginning. IPhones and some Androids take great pictures and you can use that.

Nikon D5600 – what I use

Tripod

You need a tripod. I don’t care what you using to take pictures, but get you a tripod. Self-portraits or recording videos this will be on of your greatest investments.

Lightweight – affordable

Heavy weight – current

Ringlight

If you’re planning to record or shoot inside and you don’t have natural light, a ringlight would be great. It will brighten up you and your background.

Lighting Kit

Talking about the ringlight, I brought up recording or shooting at home. I also decided on a lighting kit and this one came with with a backdrop and 2 sets of lights. I am absolutely doing the most but it was necessary for me.

Microphone

When thinking about a microphone, I did a lot of research. I know I didn’t want background noise or there to be a signifcant echo on my videos. I went with the lapel mic that plugs up to my camera.

Starting out as a content creator, these are going to essential items that you will. Let me know what else you think should be in my kit. And what are you using to create content?
